Hey there. Yes, I'm definitely into other electronic genres, but I haven't heard too much lately outside of synthwave that really, strongly appealed to me. I'd consider some classic electronic acts such as Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Underworld and perhaps Boards of Canada as some of my favourite bands of all time.
I've heard some decent chiptune and 16bit music, but I mostly like it as a soundtrack for doing other things (like video gaming or driving to work) rather than just relaxing and enjoying music. I don't know enough about 8-bit (chiptune) or 16-bit to really recommend anything, though. If you want, have a look at the Chiptune RYM page and then scroll through the top releases on the right-hand side of the page. In fact, I'm going to do that too, as I'm curious now to know what's considered the best of the genre... Let me know if you find anything that you like and I'll be sure to do the same.
Thanks again for commenting on My Favorite albums list. And yeah I just listened to Bat Out of Hell a week ago too! I was blown away by how much fun it is to sing along to.
