Greetings, fellow music lovers and champions of recondite talent... If you read these words in the vain hope of learning more about this "Forevermore" individual, I must sadly disappoint - there is little to know other than my musical tastes. For enlightenment upon the latter point, I shall now impart to you some of my favourite genres:

Power Metal
Hard Rock
Glam Metal (although often used as a synonym for any 80s Hard/Melodic Rock with Metal influences)
Melodic Metal
Romanticism
Symphonic Metal
AOR / Melodic Rock
Heavy Metal
Neo-prog
Orchestral Trailer Music
Progressive Rock

In reality, however, I actually like most genres to some degree, as long as they are melodic, fun, or interesting in some form. I don't consider a lot of so-called music these days to actually be music, and I'm not just talking about the state of mainstream chart music. Even with genres I listen to a lot, such as Metal, we find that a lot of the more well-known modern artists are little more than noise, with no focus on melody, harmony, emotional/interesting lyrics, or anything that makes music indeed music. Hence why I prefer artists in specific sub-genres, such as Power Metal, traditional Heavy Metal, and Melodic Metal that focus on the qualities I admire. This is also why sub-genres are so important, as they help us all to find music we like.

I am also not afraid to be critical of allegedly classic albums, nor am I unwilling to rate an apparently awful album fairly. After all, the music I admire tends to be ostracised or ignored by mainstream music "experts" and magazines anyway... Besides, I place much greater trust in the opinion of fellow RYMs with similar taste to myself. ;) The feature to search for albums "as rated by my friends" is extremely useful, and one of the best features of RYM.
