I like to keep an open mind since listening to music is a huge part of my life. I always have my eye out for new (or old) music to discover. I'm here to review stuff mainly, rating is secondary for me because my ratings could change one star either way depending on my mood. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to listen to a particular album, even though it's something I like.

Rating Scale:
5 - Classic
4.5 - Most Excellent
4 - Excellent
3.5 - Very Good
3 - Good
2.5 - Good, but flawed in some way
2 - Fair
1.5 - Beer Coaster
1 - I bought/downloaded/stole THIS?
.5 - Must've been drunk/stoned when I bought/downloaded/stole this.

Was going to buy Free the Bees in a HMV in Cork a few years ago, went for a Beach Boys compilation instead of stuff I had already heard 600,000 times. *sighs* silly ole me...

Check out this bad boy... Somewhat similar but from a mid 70s perspective with lots of Brian Wilson-esque synthesiser magnificence https://rateyourmusic.com/...rths_plantasia/

"No one can afford the houses anymore. Not like my mom's generation, anyway."

    I know :(

I wonder what my kids will go through...they might have it even worse.

Is it just me, or is the magic slowly dissipating from here?

Your appreciation is always appreciated ;)

Maybe its music in general, all I listen to these days is long wave German and French radio playing middle ages choral music at 3am, Bach, Schumann, and Grieg solo piano pieces, Debussy, Dvorak, Sibelius, and Segovia documentaries and organ fugues that spontaneously turn up on arts tv stations, other than that music does jack shit for me these days.

It was always that line about political correctness that made me cringe, when she was of course one of the ultimate icons of plastic boorish 90s right-on-ishness. That Sunday afternoon around 99/2000 in Caulfield's bar in my home town with all those cackling hairdressers in their skin tight stonwashed jeans and leather jackets with the little strips of leather hanging from them singing along to that, is something that is welded like cast iron to my brain.
