Oh yes, the promos for the American adaptation are horrid and I imagine the show itself won't fair much better.
The biggest problem with the series is that the intial seasons are nowhere near as good as the first -- season 1 and 3 introduce a cast of characters and the subsequent seasons (2 and 4) do interesting things with them. I just like it for its visuals and music selection (which is brilliant in seasons 3-4). I can't explain why it's enjoyable. I just like the spectacle of it. It's not like anything else. It's written by a group of teenagers (at least it was initially, not sure if it is now) and it shows: you get the sense they do whatever the hell they want with the show. Give season 3 a chance, if you ever have the time (but be sure to download it -- the DVD releases replace all the licensed music with unsigned bands).
I've had "Tokyo!" in my Netflix queue for a while and I guess now I'll add "Josee, the Tiger and the Fish" next to it. Thanks for the half-hearted rec, heh. I still say you should check out "Ping Pong." Really fun film and the use of Supercar songs elevates it.
i don't recall if you mentioned anatakikou before. you might have. my memory sucks, but you should know that by now :). i will most likely make a list, but yeah - i seem to be listening to less and less new music each year. and playing more video games instead :(
thanks for the comments :). oh wow, just noticed by lookin at the 'upcoming' section of your rym that there's a new aco album.... gonan have to check that out

I think its time for another mix! If you make me one, I'll make you one back.
Haven't got around to listening to all those albums you sent but hopefully will soon. Thanks again!
