I really like Faith a lot, FWIW. It's not as consistently brilliant as its successor but I like its highs about as much.

Yeah, I definitely remember Dark Metal being a better album, but for whatever reason I didn't remember it being almost 70 minutes long, ha. I'll probably be listening to it tomorrow when I get off work or something. Thanks for the kind words regarding my review btw.
Anyway, what's your favourite Destruction album?

I've been listening to the 80's work a ton recently, since in the metal thread folks were talking about their favourite albums from 86 and it reminded me that I hadn't heard Eternal Devastation in a long time.
My personal fave's Release From Agony, it's not as raw as the earlier albums, but they were really well equipped to go in a more technical direction, and the riffage kills throughout. Very fucked up & kinda trippy at times, almost Coroner-esque in that regard.
I'm not fond of the reunion material very much; it's all a bit sterile for me. But 80's Destruction was consistently fantastic I think.
Thanks! It indeed is my cat, named Gibby (in tribute of Mr. Haynes). He has a brother named Ozzy who also roams around my house, and you can see them pictured together here.
They definitely make my life brighter and happier. I never had any cats before them, but they've made me cat fanatics for life.

Oh yeah, it's fantastic. I had the same experience too, for whatever reason it took a lot longer to look into it than their other stuff. And then that first riff in "Dark World" comes on and you're all like "holy shit why did I take forever to get this?"
And yeah Reagers is fantastically creepy on it.

Yeah, I know of Surrender or Die also.. I like it almost as much as the first album. "Shadow of Death" and the title song are two of my favourite tracks of theirs. I also really like their cover of "Massacra", it's somehow more vicious than the original one.
I'm also a fan of the Not Dead Yet/Paranormal compilation, even if that's completely different & more "conventional" thrash than the earlier stuff.
