My Rating System:
Unrated : This means I don't know enough about the band or I haven't listened to the album enough to pass a valid opinion on it and thus my review is merely a thought fragment and may be subject to change/need not be taken seriously enough.
.5 stars : I find there is nothing I like about the album. Usually, I'm not so critical of albums, so if one gets this, it means it's horrible (in my eyes, of course.)
star : Better than 0.5 stars but still has obnoxious elements which make it hard for me to like the album.
.5 stars : It apparently sounds o.k. but leaves me emotionally cold.
stars, 2.5 stars & 3 stars : These can refer to albums I may like, but are not of a consistent quality. Usually for these ratings I provide an explanation as to why I do/don't like the album in my review.
.5 stars : an album that has serious potential and borders on being a great one.
stars : Excellent, consistently good, emotionally or intellectually provoking, unique, original, the kind of stuff that makes you want to play it again and re-discover it again.
.5 stars : Almost reaching the peaks of sublimity.
stars : Phenomenal.
