This is fucking brutal shit right here, a ten-ton bomb of slightly epic (see the overall pace, quirky riff style here and there, and general production feeling of Kronos for reference) slam death metal! However, while the other excellent slam band who released an album this year, Cephalotripsy, decided to go the extremely slow, punishing, breakdown-laden route, Inveracity instead choose to traverse the path of fast and quick-changing slam/brutal death metal popularized by Gorgasm and Deeds of Flesh with nods to the aforementioned French death metal band! This is a very refreshing listen, considering the first Inveracity disc was a heavy-handed collection of pure early-Suffocation worship. While this sometimes can be placed in that category, a lot of the comparisons stop with the combination of a change in vocal style (no longer the semi-understandable guttural of the debut) and the heavy change in riff structure. Kickass!
