I'm an English teacher in Hong Kong, born and raised in Seattle, USA. I'm also a musician and my one album, Rhythm of the Void, is available here for download under Ben Tully. If you feel like buying my music as well, check out my bandcamp site (address listed above) or Soundproof Highway on iTunes.
My rating system is as follows:
5 stars=Fantastic. As close to perfect as possible. Nearly every song is stellar and there is a certain cohesiveness about the album. The artist worked hard to achieve this.
4.5 stars=Extremely good. The only thing that holds this back from being a five is that indescribable spark. Listening to a 4.5 star album is a great experience, but not quite surreal.
4 stars=Very good. The album is either consistently good, or great with a few stumbles. Would recommend a 4 star album to anyone.
3.5 stars=Good. I haven't quite fallen in love with it but there's definitely something appealing here.
3 stars=Average. Not an album I listen to very much but better than a lot of music out there. I could easily live without my three star albums.
2-2.5 stars=Fair. About the lowest rating I give. I can see why people might like it, but I sure don't.
0-1.5 Star=N'Sync or Creed territory. I don't have any of these ratings because I'd never acquire something I could possibly grow to hate this much.
