Movement game
Genre
Movement games are first-person 3D platformers based around navigating through levels as quickly as possible. These games often feature movement or gameplay mechanics derived from first-person shooters like grapple hooks in Cyber Hook (2020) or actual shooting in Neon White (2022). Some movement games even take popular community-made game modes from other FPS games, such as "rocket jump" from Team Fortress 2 (2017) appearing in Neon Boost (2019), or Counter-Strike's "bunny hop" and "surf" game modes being represented in Bhop Pro (2016) and Hoverflow (2021) respectively. Momentum Mod (2022) was created for speedrunners of these community made movement game-modes to have a faithful recreation of them in a more easily modifiable and single-player environment.
