Came out 11 years after the original, manages to fail to capture most of what really made its aesthetic work! And it makes Yoshi sloooow without Mario's run button ability, even though in the previous game he ran fast with no run button needed.
this game is fun to me but something i realized about this game is that its very inconsistent with the artstyle youll have like enemies that are nearly identical and one will have lines and the other wont and they'll just straight up put snes sprites in the game and have updated ones right next to it also no one talks about this game
Still far preferable to what Yoshi has become. The effects of Yoshi's Story on the franchise and the modern games' overreliance on cute aesthetics are my personal Sticker Star
That being said I'm one of those who thinks Yoshi's came into his own as a character when they gave him a voice. The cartoon sound effects and distorted record scratches weren't going to cut it forever
