The painfully cliché Xenoblade series ends here. With the most cringe inducing cast of antagonists I've ever seen in a video game, each named after a letter of the alphabet, and voice acting that would make Tetsuya Nomura blush. When people say they don't like anime, they point to stuff like this. If that wasn't bad enough, the game basically plays itself and team composition hardly matters. It's as mindless as JRPGs get, mobile MMO material. Just wait for one of four cooldowns to reset and chain statuses once in a while. All of the classes pretty much feel the same and there aren't any moves to unlock to switch things up either. There's also an incredibly overpowered team attack that you can use to over-level your party.

Xenogears is clearly inspired by Evangelion and Xenosaga evolves that formula in a 100% sci-fi environment. Xenoblade is more like Science Fiction Fantasy with toned down complexity and writing.
That ending absolutely BLOWS After 100 hours, no explanation for Z? Not even a slight bit of characterization or backstory? What is Moebius? Plotholes that build over the course of the entire game never getting addressed, all the shit from N's backstory is never explained. 30 minutes of empty blathering about the future and change, from characters who haven't extended their characterization in dozens of hours. And in the end, the world just separate again, which is such a huge waste of the premise and totally whiffs the potential sense of conclusion for the series.

Still want to play the DLC though.
