Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness

I've been something of an apologist for this game in the past but I played through it again over the past few weeks and yikes. There's still bits of promise throughout (the soundtrack and first few levels/areas are great atmospherically) but things go off the rails later. Things feel like they're held together with duct tape by time you get to the end in terms of mechanics and the glitches.

Great atmosphere and plot. Wish it got the development time it deserved.

Amazing but also terrible game. Huge fan of the story, atmosphere, monster design, and level design (visually, not gameplay-wise). However I still consider this a bad game due to probably the worst controls I've ever seen and some extremely dubious level design (gameplay-wise) as well as some crazy gameplay decisions (stamina upgrades found by hanging onto random ledges?!)
Honestly I think this might be worth sitting down and watching on youtube, actually playing it is extremely painful, especially if you're not skilled at games, as this one is quite difficult.
