I was over-leveled most of the game, so it was just too easy (on normal mode, anyway). But I liked the style and music, and appreciated being able to place markers on the map. Combat seemed a bit shallow, not very interesting. Still worth playing.
Definitely a 6.5 or 7/10 metroidvania. I found this extremely generic in its first 30-60 minutes, but gradually got pulled in by the excellent music and interesting story/atmosphere. It only took me about 7 hours to finish 100%, but I still enjoyed it overall. My main gripe was just how wildly underused the time freeze mechanic is. By halfway through, I realized its sole mandatory purpose is to freeze enemies and leap to inaccessible places and I got a bit let down.
The dev has confirmed they're working on a sequel, so I'm interested to see how they'll improve. This year's Axiom Verge 2 does a similar mirroring map thing and was much more engaging than this, so hoping the time mechanic is actually better integrated throughout in the next game.
