I agree with this. Would love to see a return for them; however, 4 in a game is just too many. And they’re too cramped together. Became far too predictable at some point.
I'd be curious as to what people here think about the lore reveals in this game. i knew about Denise's curse before playing the game, and it sounded really lame. I didn't like the idea of the reason for ganon being reincarnated throughout was just because of some other big evil guy. However after playing the game and hearing about the original translations surrounding demise (he's the avatar of demise in most other languages) im more positive about it. I just wish they portrayed more as a timeless evil force, and not just as some big guy
Don't care for Demise's design or his presentation within the story. Agreed that he always just seemed like big evil guy, and his buff humanoid character design certainly plays a part in that. The translation probably plays a part too but I honestly can't recall the details of his monologue. The Imprisoned on the other hand does sell "timeless evil" pretty well I think. I would've liked Demise's true form to retain more of those eldritch vibes, while still being humanoid enough in shape to justify a sword battle.
Why SS is a great game: -Wonderful watercolor artstyle -Underrated motion controls add some complexity to battles with normal enemies. Definitely beats run up and press A imo. It is painful if you have a bad motion sensor and I understand how some people hate how often it is used in this game, but I prefer it to prior Zeldas' sword combat. Definitely improved in the remake with easy recalibration -imo the two best Zelda dungeons ever are in this game. Time Ship and Ancient Cistern are the coolest and most memorable Zelda dungeons to me. -Great characters....this is my favorite Link/Zelda iteration and Ghirahim & especially Groose are great, too. -Best or at least top 3 final boss in Zelda. In fact, the whole end sequence is amazing. Love the Ghirahim fight at the end, and most of the other boss fights in this are simply fantastic. -My favorite Zelda atmosphere. The worlds and soundtracks just make exploring a joy. It also makes me really enjoy the sky despite its relative emptiness. -A handful of other unique mechanics and items that elevate the puzzle solving in this game, such as the whip, bow (I know this is in every Zelda but for some reason I love it in this game the most), and time stones. I do wish there was more item use outside of the areas you get them, though.
Conclusion: Play it with an open mind and positive attitude and it will become one of your favorites!
Fun, engaging story, beautiful artstyle made even better by the oled. Amazing dungeons. Game drags a bit in the end with the song of the hero. Very lineair. But its well designed here to not be as intrusive as TP was imo. Revisiting the different area's 3 times was fine, but is ideally not the way to go. You can also see a lot of mechanics and ideas BOTW and especially TOTK took their inspiration or completed. All by all a very fun game.
i love this game but my heart resides in breath of the wild, i dont see it as an empty world but something to explore and space to take time to breathe. i don’t usually prefer constant action but that’s just me. I think if Nintendo had made more Zelda games in this style it would have gone down in quality
