You have a joystick and one button, which you use to both simultaneously zoom on the map, and also select and direct your units in this proto-RTS. You have four kinds of units: infantry, tanks, artillery cannons, and supply lines, and you can only lead them to a destination one by one, which is ABSOLUTELY frustrating.
The infantry, tanks, and artillery units are all combat units that have varying levels of strength, but outside of the slow and cumbersome handling of the units, the supply trucks will be the bane of your existence. Every military unit has a supply gague which almost acts as their HP, and deteriorates over time. If you don't send those trucks over to them to replenish their supplies, they die, and playing catch with both the incredibly slow supply trucks and the units is a disaster.
In a sense this explains why 99% of the combat for people playing happens at the bridge, and why it was designed specifically for this game. You'd spend half of the game making formations of troops so they'd compose a static defense. All the same the agitating control scheme of picking on a per-unit basis, the cumbersome and slow speeds and the banality of supply lines make this game such an unfortunately-aged one despite being very inovative.
