The ship combat is just as good as you'd expect, but the strategy elements leave much to be desired. The interface is finicky and everything being governed by resource limitations severely hampers the actual tactics you can utilise, especially in maps that require some form of offense. The story is also balls weird, centered on a CYOA format that locks certain options, goes off the rails and leaves a very empty feeling, far from the grand space opera of everything that came before.

Say what you will about gameplay or writing, but the worst offense this game did was give us the ugliest design for Fox that they still won't stop using in Smash
