The arcade version of SonSon is a truly fantastic scrolling shooter with "Journey to the West" themes, easy to pick up and play, and not at all frustrating. It has a short number of stages that's quick and easy to break through, and be sure to invite a friend so you could beat the game in co-op! (3.0)
Beware of the NES port at all costs, though. It was outsourced to Micronics and as a result you could expect the telltale framerate dips and flickering, and while the gameplay is completely maneouverable and accurate, the sudden slowdowns are really more aggravating than advantageous. (2.0)

Since apparently even Capcom has forgotten that they made a sequel to this, and it doesn't have its own entry on this site yet, I'm gonna use this space to toss out a light reccomendation for SonSon II on the TG-16. It's nothing too special, but in terms of gameplay it's basically a direct follow-up to Black Tiger, and has some pretty cute spritework for 1989.
