this is a genuinely solid and fun game. really cool mechanics and there's nothing objectively wrong with it. being 1.9 score is way too harsh. its a fun platformer on the same level as a new super mario bros. no glitches. no frame rate issues!
fire and ice improves on the previous game without making any sacrifices to what was already there. the game controls tightly and attacking feels good. the switch gimmick is never forgotten and it's naturally woven into the levels. Jump on a waterfall and keep sliding through. plummet through ice and swing on vines. it's not classic Sonic. it lacks replay ability. the art design lacks a lot although there are standouts.
but it is a fun game and it's clearly underrated. doesn't deserve these low scores because of its association to boom.
