Scavenger Hunt is a nice nostalgia trip if you're as old as I am and watched the TV series; it's fully-licenced, fully-voiced and opens with the classic theme song. There are even a handful of cutscenes introducing the game and its three modes of play, which look impressively true to the source.
It's not long, though, before the nostalgia pales in comparison to horrendous gameplay. Scavenger Hunt is essentially a Mario Party clone, but a lazy one: there are no mini games and multiplayer must be played by passing around a single controller. Watching CPU or even human players take their turns is mind-numbingly boring as you stare at the game's very rough graphics and wonder what is even playing out on the game boards--ironically, it's more difficult and cryptic than Mario Party, little that occurs on the board or even the objective of play making any sense. Characters take turns wandering around performing dull actions like collecting cookies, keys, candy and other junk for vague or unexplained reasons. It's excruciatingly unexciting.
I can't help but feel there could have been potential here given the game's production value and presentation, but it's all just been executed so poorly.
