Onimusha: Warlords

Resident Evil with samurai. But hey, it (mostly) works! It has the basic puzzle and level design you would expect with enough flair to stand out, and an early attempt at what would become the standard for character action upgrades, which makes Onimusha a game that has earned its reputation even if the combat is slightly dated and simplistic. The Dark Realm, an optional gauntlet, best demonstrates its shortcomings.
