Nancy Drew: Secrets Can Kill

Secrets Can Kill is one definite example of how boring a game can be on replay. The first time around? Sure, decoding all the word puzzles and looking through the library to find strategically placed hints is interesting...once...then becomes incredibly uninteresting.
Not helping any is that the design of the game tries to be giving too much information and just the information you'll need all at once. A needless amount of time is spent finding one's way around a school, or trying to find hotspots in an obviously useful place that is entirely useless.
Since the game is a murder mystery, our objective is to find out who killed a guy who everybody hates. Which involves going back and forth between half a dozen characters for far too long. The characters are 2D animated, which has aged better than the 3D in the next installments, but it feels out of place in the otherwise 3D world.
I know it sounds like I'm trying to beat up the game, but honestly, it's worth a shot if you like the series, and it's got one of the darkest atmospheres of the entire series.
