My favorite parts of the game are the boss battles. In general though, the game is too hard for its own good, and progression tends to be stymied by obscure level design where the path forward is unclear. I don't need walkthroughs very often in games but for this game it seemed like a constant necessity. Then towards the end of the game your path forward is blocked unless you've collected 5 shards for a special sword (which up to that point I assumed was an optional collectible). That's when I stopped playing because it's a massive backtracking quest that comes out of nowhere, and is a waste of time to me.

Yeah, i assumed it was optional too. I didn't mind it that much because i like getting the stuff that makes you OP but it's definitely something that can be a pain in the ass.

You can buy items that reveal where hidden items are on the map (from the sky town shop iirc), so it shouldn't take that long. For me looking for the hidden items was a lot of fun and I actually ended up 100%:ing it.

Never really got stuck with the main progression either, just one or two puzzles.

averages aren't everything when it comes to ratings. if you look at the distribution, the most common rating actually is a 4.
