Meat Boy

Its an early prototype for Super Meat boy, but made in flash and free for everyone. Honestly, unless you are a huge fan of Super Meat Boy, i wouldnt bother with this one. Its still the same type of sadistic platforming, however its not nearly as perfect to control. Meat Boy skids all over the place, and the game is really missing the tight to controls that make these sort of level be enjoyable. Because the controls are so sensitive, even making simple jumps is hard in this one. Its a very challenging game, but for all the wrong reasons. Fortunatly this was fixed in the main game.

Not too fond of this one because of the way it feels distinctly against what Super Meat Boy was. The fast paced precision platforming doesn't really work too well when it feels like you're constantly fighting against these imprecise, floaty controls, and it makes even some of the simplest jumps feel agonising to perform because the lack of precision almost makes your movements feel completely committal rather than having the control required to perform the actions in the way you want.

The levels for the most part also feel rather uninspired, focusing around just having to jump between smaller and narrower platforms from further apart rather than the more creative obstacles that these games strongly benefit from. Danny B is forever an awesome composer as well and brings a bit of personality to this that makes it a fairly middling experience rather than a purely terrible one to me. There are much better difficult platformers out there, such as Super Meat Boy
