    Something about this one just didnt click for me like Superstar Saga or especially Inside Story did. I think it was the sprites, and the jump to 3D, which looked really odd for a series that I always associated with beautiful 2D artwork. At least this has the best main battle music in the series!

      Legit, the battle theme in the dream world is one of my favorite Yoko Shimomura pieces ever.

    playing through this again and can't help but think that if this game were half as long it would be an all-timer for sure. really a shame

    Might be my bias, but I never understood the hate for this game. Sure…it’s the longest in the series and is probably the most annoying, but for me I didn’t care. This was my introduction to the series as a little kiddy wink and I’ve loved it ever since. But now, looking back, while I still love this game, it IS extremely flawed. Unplayable? Nah. But it can a bit tedious at moments, especially the very poor introduction. I would love to go back and look at this game with a new pair of lens.
