Libble Rabble

Namco have really outdone themselves this time.

From the first screen and the first saccharine bars of music Libble Rabble creates a fantasy world of strawberry fields, and quaint little mushrooms. The game has actually a twin-stick control scheme, and each of them controls an end of a rope. The goal is simple: Use the roap to envelop and catch the mushrooms! Along the way you'll have some bigger mushrooms who are baddies, and some scissors(who can't kill you) that can cut off your rope and with it all your precious hard work.

Although the controls initially seem awkward to get used to, practice 5 minutes with it and you'll be treated to an arcade gem unlike any other, with an arresting mechanic you badly wish was more present in modern games. People must not forget that the one of the big allures of games back then was the often perplexing, but unique control styles they used to try.
