It really is saying something when each of the Harry potter games proves to be slightly worse than the last, this being no exception as it somehow takes a step back from its predecessor which in turn was a step back from the first game.
Whilst I did praise the first two games for being more accurate with how the characters appeared and behaved, this time they look and behave like they do in the films meaning we have their (in my opinion) awful school uniforms rather than their robes this time around with the teachers more resembling their film counterparts rather than how they were described in the books. They also still claim that protego is expelliarmus despite that being established as Harry's signature spell by this point in the franchise with the release of order of the phoenix, I'm guessing this was to have flipendo once again be the main offensive spell given how that book canonised it in the franchise by this point. As for the other spells, they're divided up between Harry Ron and Hermione as Harry's friends are now playable in this game as opposed to it being a solo venture for him. The game has it so you can switch between who you want to control with the other two being Ai controlled to ensure you don't have to manage them individually like other games at the time would have you do. That's about the only new element this game brings to the table, well that and the new spells as only flipendo and protego are learned by all three of them. Harry learns carpe retractum and expecto patronum, Ron only learns Lumos (which works differently here to how it does in any other version of the franchise) and Hermione learning glacius, reparo, draconis and snuffelor basically makes her the real star of the show as she has the most solo sections in order to learn these spells independent of her friends.
That's about all I have to say about this game as anything else worth adding is just repeating myself from the first two games. Thankfully the next game went in a different direction because this sort of gameplay had become stale by this point.
