Guitar Hero: Van Halen

If you know anything about Van Halen, you'll probably expect this, but GH: Van Halen completely excludes the Sammy Hagar era of the band. They also completely exclude Michael Anthony, replacing him with Eddie's son, Wolfgang. Just like real life, I suppose.
The Van Halen choices, if you accept the lack of Hagar, are about as good as they could be. It's absolutely ridiculous, however, that they included the entire first Van Halen album except On Fire. We've got filler tracks from later albums, but On Fire, which was a song I legitimately wanted in the game, got shafted. I thought I was setting the bar pretty low, but Activision's limbo skills are just too good.

Band-focused Guitar Hero games feature not just songs from the central artist, but also guest artists. In Aerosmith and Metallica's cases, these were selections from bands that influenced them, or bands they toured with.
In Van Halen's case, they didn't give a shit and just let Wolfgang choose all the songs. There are some great choices from a game standpoint there, but none except maybe Space Truckin' have anything to do with Van Halen.
