this is the most important FF in terms of developing the franchise's trademark story-telling and gameplay... well at least up through 10, anyway.

Pixel remaster is amazing. Really elevated the game for me.

The combat is both dull and stressful at the same time. Really not pleasant.

I think it's pretty cool how they weren't afraid to kill off characters seemingly at random even if they do bring them all back at the end.

no other game before had done that kind of thing.

needs a Space secondary

For the time, this one had an incredibly "sophisticated" storyline that, if you were 10 years old, was a lot better then that shit they forcing you to read in school, to say nothing of the other console RPGs of the time.

Does it hold up? Well, that entirely depends on how old you are when playing it for the first time.

if you have 12 years old this could make a mindblowing on you
