Awesome underrated Open World RPG Life Sim game, like Animal Crossing meets RPG, with a lot of gameplay variety depending on what you want to do.

Amazing framework for a game but what a piss hollow experience. Horribly balanced combat classes, every crafting and gathering class is redundant, choice is an illusion as the game ultimately expects you to everything at which point the mechanical overlap becomes starkly apparent as you realize there's only really like 3 things to do in the game and they all play out the exact same way every time. Like how hard would it have been for each crafting class to at least use different minigames? A game like Spiritfarer doesn't even try to make a spectacle of its crafting the way this does and yet has way more variety. Such a good idea I'd love to see revisited but the details and individual components are sorely lacking here.

forever bummed that the original Mother 3-style artstyle was dumped for the polygonal one it has. Decent game, great concept, would benefit with a really fleshed out sequel on modern platforms.

I really enjoyed the chill atmosphere and story of this game, but damn what a grind it is.... especially given how like nearly half the classes all revolve around the similar minigame. I bought the Origin Island DLC but was peeved to discover I'd have to do a ton of grinding in the classes I didn't like to get to the required level to access it.

I am pretty curious about the Switch sequel but am hoping it is not as repetitive as this game gets at times.
