Some quriky (almost rom-hacky) type game play doesn't really add much to a game that really doesn't look hot at all with the type of graphics they are attempting.
If you're playing on Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance, try hitting Up + B during the start-up screen. The color palette retians the feel of original Game Boy, but helps character sprites more stand out.
