    feels like this applies to every game nowadays but there's a great game here behind 6 months - 1 year of development hidden by the early access / rushed release bullshit of the current day

    In a vanilla vs. vanilla comparison, CS2 wins and is overall a more polished product even with the quirks and rushed development. However, vanilla CS2 mostly shows how this game really was all about the modding community and how much players depended and relied on mod functionality. Assuming the mod ecosystem is in place, I suspect this game will be the game it should be in 12-18 months once we have further optimizations and the first gen of mods.
