    PC version runs like ass with or without the new graphics. In my very initial testing I noticed some bad frame drops that when compared to footage of the PS1 version didn't exist in the original. The remastered soundtrack is pretty clean which is nice, but unless they can get the performance back up to par with the original I'll just skip this or replay it through other means in 4K 60 FPS.

      I think it's only the PC version, cause I've been streaming it on switch and it runs perfectly fine.

      It's worse on every platform. They are using an emulator still clocked at the same speeds as the original hardware, this is fine for the classic mode but the remastered mode means it struggles since they didnt compensate for the higher res assets.

      Find that weird cause it hasn't been happening during my streams, it's been running fine and fast/fluent. Not denying but I guess I was just lucky lol

      The appeal for me will be the mods. This game is gonna be sweet with true AI up-res textures/backgrounds, 60 fps, improved models.

    New update is "better" but it's ridiculous that it took almost a year to do so, and the Switch version at least still frequently lags in battle which makes menuing a pain in the ass. Still, this is probably the best version because fast forward is essential to me being able to play this game. Even on release I couldn't tolerate how excruciatingly slow the combat is.

      yeah this was my first ps1 JPRG, and i couldn't play it for more than 2 hours due to how slow it was either. i beat the mainline PS1 FFs for comparison.

      you would think they could tweak some of the in-game programming to make the whole thing more fluid but it seems like this is just being emulated and run in HD/4K. what a shame.
