it's simply mind blowing that something like this came out the same year as Symphony of the Night. imagine it's 1997 and your parents tell you they bought Castlevania for Christmas and then you unpack this tragedy
"Burning mode" is such a fucked mechanic. It simultaneously feels like it trivializes any challenges the game may have had, while also adding absolutely nothing to the gameplay. I would regularly forget I even had it, then a level section or boss would get even the slightest bit annoying, and I'd remember "Oh yeah, I can just skip this with god mode". What an effective way to make your game completely unmemorable.
