Title
After the legendarily awful English-language localization of its predecessor, Castle of Shikigami III pays tribute to it with ever more ridiculous dialogue and stilted voice acting, including breaking of the fourth wall. And there is a lot of dialogue and voice acting in this game. The replayability of shmup is typically in getting an ever higher score, but CoS III also has differing dialogue and cutscenes depending on which character the player chooses. There is an implicit absurdity inherent to the shoot 'em up genre and CoS III not only embraces that absurdity and makes it explicit, but it also makes it a major selling feature of the game.
