i remember playing a toy story ps1 game on one of those demo discs (it was toy story 2). i really enjoyed the demo, so i put it on my birthday list. unfortunately for me, i got this one instead from my rather oblivious uncle. i smiled and said thanks regardless, being the well-mannered boy i was. inside i was very disappointed, but i would give this game a chance - maybe it would actually turn out to be okay?
wrong. it wasn't the free roaming sandbox game that i desired in toy story 2. buzz lightyear of star command, in contrast, is a linear sort of game that is quite fast-paced and chaotic. it comes off as more of an arcade game. i remember the controls were clunky and frustrating. this is one of the games i played the least out of the rather vast collection of ps1 games that i owned, so i can't rate this any higher than an F.
bad game. toy story 2 was a much better game in every aspect. funny how we'd eventually get the toy story 3 game over a decade later which would carry on the same spirit as its predecessor and offer a pretty decent gaming experience.
