In a pre-Wii Sports bowling world, I couldn't imagine finding something better to play and easier to understand. Only two modes really matter in this game. The default Standard bowling mode and the Special mode that puts you up against 50 pin frames. No real knowledge is needed to understand how to win in this game. Knock down the pins. You decide where to roll the ball, and through a couple timing-based input meters, you get to choose the amount of power as well. Also, a spin mechanic is hidden in this game which you can utilize by holding down the arrow buttons while the ball is rolling down the lane. The environment is truly inspiring. A set of bowling lanes located inside of a black void. Peaceful. The Special mode dials down the lights and shifts the game into RAVE mode with 50 glowing pins to knock down all at once. Pair this with the amazing menu music, and you have a Simple 1500 masterpiece.
