Overall tighter than the first game, and the triangle jump is a no-brainer addition to Bonk's moveset. I still can't help feeling that there's a really fantastic platformer control scheme in here that's just marred somewhat by things like Bonk being a hair too slow to start moving, the punishment-stun from missing with a head-smash being a tad too long, and the level design just not quite doing enough to complement his core moves. Maybe it's partly that this is just a really short game, but it feels like a decent amount of his possible moves only end up seeing use in like two stages (waterfall climbing, horizontal-tree swinging, etc.). There's so much potential in this series, and I really hope the other games capitalize on it a little better. As it is though, this one's still really solid.
Really great game. Just a hair below Bonk's Adventure due to the controls being worse (the turbo jump is nerfed) and the music is inferior. However, it is more challenging and overall has better level design. One of the last great games for the Turbografx 16 which would soon after stop production.
