A guilty pleasure
It's about as deep as a puddle mechanics wise, but player-collision and hefty, meaty strikes and blows makes this game cathartic as hell to play. It also has a good assortment of weapons to pick from, and they all feel distinct from one another in how they feel to wield and how you use them; blades stab and chop off limbs, maces smash heads in, and the two-handed weapons feel weighty and impactful to wield and use.

All that combined with the inherent interactivity that VR provides makes the enemies very dynamic to fight; and also some of the unluckiest NPCs in any video game.

Great combat sim for VR
I will likely never know the satisfaction of clanking swords together in real life. I will certainly never know what it's like to cut through medieval archers with a lightsaber. But thankfully Blade and Sorcery gave me a pretty decent idea of the experience.

Blade and Socery is a sword fighting arcade-ish game for VR. It uses a fantasy theme and allows you to choose from a variety of weapons and spells to fight with against a variety of medieval themed enemies. And oh boy is it fun. The controllers vibrate scarily realistically when clanking against other metal. The swinging feels like it has real weight behind it. Duels are viseral and brutal. No other game has made me feel like a psychopath as much as this has.

There is also a magic system. You can throw boulders at dudes, chuck fireballs, zap them with electricity, and so much more. The game is still getting frequent updates and has great mod support too. A must have for VR owners (as long as you are squeamish).

    this game has amazing potential. needs to have gore, multiplayer co-op, an rpg story-based gamemode, etc. the possibilities are endless.

    u12 has been confirmed to be a much smaller update, lots of small things like breakable props, swimming, more animations, new dungeon rooms, mod manager but still no crystal hunt :(

    i just hope crystal hunt adds a pretty big amount of content since they've been teasing it so much, an rpg gamemode with the b&s mechanics (and maybe even more mechanics) would be spectacular. mods can only hold me over so much
