Title
Astal is style over substance but its not void of the stuff and the style goes a long way. I love the vibe of this game; it reminds me of B-tier fantasy on TV and film from the '80s and early '90s. The music and even awkward voice acting connects with me emotionally. The game itself is enjoyable as well, despite some floaty physics and an unclear player hitbox. The combat feels good and the levels are always changing things up, even if they conclude with some lame boss fights. It's a deceptively hard game since you can quickly lose lives to falling in pits on later levels.
