13 year old Ashley heads off to Blood Edward Island to meet with her father who she had believed to be dead. She encounters a ghost with no memories of his life and simply goes by the name "D". The two team up on their adventure into the Edward mansion and try to piece together their memories of their lives.
Another Code is very similar to a point and click adventure, and as you navigate the bottom screen, 2D detailed views appear on the top screen. You can then examine these areas more closely on the bottom screen and poke around with the stylus to interact with them. The puzzles in the game are clever, but sometimes you need to use the DS in unnatural ways (such as partially or fully closing the DS). In these situations you may become stuck and then turn to a walk-through.
Completing a couple of puzzles will then end the chapter, but there are only 5 or so chapters, which means the game is over far too quickly. Usually in these type of games, you add items to your inventory and then wonder what you do with them. However, in this game, Ashley will never pick up an item unless you have examined the area you need it for, which makes you think a bit more and try to remember the items you have seen along the way.
A couple of endings exist for the game which are basically decided whether you managed to help D remember his past. However, if you don't help him remember, it does feel like a bit of a wasted adventure.

Comfy af game with a great atmosphere, even if the story was a bit predictable. Still, enjoyable game that shows Cing before ramping up with their masterpiece Hotel Dusk.
