Aliens: Colonial Marines

people think this is "the worst game ever" but really it was just a big disappointment from a long development cycle. the ai is awful and theres really not too much good to say about it, but it's not a completely unplayable awful game. the one saving grace is you can play the whole campaign with a buddy (hardest difficulty) so atleast that gives you an excuse to spend time and play through a campaign. it's easy to progress, and the dificulty isn't hard at all. some of the level set pieces are nice, even if the graphics suck.

the combat is dull, but not terrible. atleast the guns have some bit of recoil and feel acceptable to use. there are a lot of stupid parts like the fucking powerlifter alien boss fight etc, but for what it was it was a fun enough experience coop, and it was short, so..

Coming to it with zero expectations i was actually surprised by it and found it a solid game. There are much worse games than this one out there, and i found that was more of a reaction to that slimy marketing than anything else.

The game itself looks good, even great in a few sections with all the lightining effects. Im not a fan of the movies, so i understand the complains that all the over the top action doesnt fit the theme of it movie, but taking it as its own its fairly competent. The weapons feel good to shoot, and the enemies for the most part feel good to shoot at.

There are big AI issues, as well as a lot of bugs. The story is also very cliche and generic. Thats said i had some good times with the campaign.
