    Not a bad game by any means, but mechanically feels very little like Age of Empires.

    I'll always cherish the memory of this game, one literally published by Microsoft, giving me my first and only real BSOD.

    Very hard to follow up AOE2, so they took a break and managed a stunning fantastical spinoff rooted in mythology instead. III was always the black sheep, but it has a certain charm to it, even though the campaign missed the mark entirely. It's a decent game that still looks really nice, IMO better than the 4th game which looks so aesthetically bland 16 years on.
