Ubisoft Düsseldorf was one of three studios that resulted from Ubisoft Blue Byte's conversion from a larger studio network to a holding company for Ubisoft's German subsidiaries in August 2019. As Blue Byte's headquarters were initially in Düsseldorf well before their acquisition by Ubisoft, Ubisoft Düsseldorf's team is effectively the successor to Blue Byte's original development team.
