basic asf but always a fun 20-minute satisfaction supplement. the strat for impossible mode: keep making club men and only club men until your opponent gets to around the 1800s age (3rd one), then make only slingshot men until you have like 30k gold, then upgrade to age 4 and buy the highest-tier turrets. from there just bide your time until you can afford 4 ion cannons in age 5 and that's p much it

(mother fk glitchwave deletes your written notes if you click your rating before saving argh pls fix thx) awesome classic pure gameplay-music synergistic meta-series, even if the new music has been lacking and "complacently weeaboo" since the late '10s (i date it to around iidx 26 rootage). my favorite konami series as a whole, and within bemani i especially enjoy ddr, drummania, and pop'n music (iidx and sdvx are fun too, guitarfreaks tho is not that fun). this console entry isn't the best tho due to limited song selection

the uncanny-est of the trilogy thanks to its sunny yet creepy world and characters, still fun. prob worst music tho, less memorably melodramatic and more "complementary atmosphere"

the og console rpg... is really not that fun. a must to go through for game devs, esp. jrpg devs, just to see the roots of the subgenre. i usually would recommend just watching a "jrpg the movie" style playthrough of jrpgs to save a lot of time, and i especially recommend that route for dq1

now you have not one, but THREE, party members! other than that it's still grindy and basic lol, but it's certainly taking steps towards modern jrpgs. suckiyama still scoring these anti-bangers, though the town themes seem better here. also the nes version has a quite cool walk-in intro that's apparently rather advanced for nes graphics

nuttin' more need be said about this goofball classic (other than that snes cartridges for this are weirdly expensive despite the game not being rare the way a game like mega man x3 is). it is very fitting fun tho that justin "richard and mortimer" roiland enjoys this game
