I do like a lot of The Jefferies brother stuff, and some of the Pin Group offshoot stuff too, but they tend to get a bit dirgy after a while. 'Beard of Bee's' is definitely an excellent album though...
Was the singer drunk at your show? He was mega-wasted and acting strangely at the one here. I think once they get a real drummer (and soundman) they could take over the indie world. BTW, I almost bought that Atmosphere 7" in '97 or so and am still kicking myself for not doing so; I thought the price ($10) was way too high. But I did buy that cover art on a poster recently.
'Secondhand Daylight' is worth the effort. It's the proggiest of their albums and the most unpenetrable. It took me over 10 years to really appreciate it.
LOL's, you're not wrong about Levene, and 'Poptones' is one of his signature tracks. He always gets such a cool, trebly, ear shredding, dog torturing sound out of his guitar :)
