thanks chrispc! if you find any great albums that you think I might like too, please recommend! (I see that you've listened to a few more albums then I have) :) ShockofDAYLIGHT gave me a superb suggestion...and I always am looking for new bands to add to my rather eclectic collection.
You might want to see this band Ghastly City Sleep in Richmond on Nov. 4, or the previous day in Norfolk; I just noticed the show listings on their MySpace. Very drifty, dreamy music not unindebted to Slowdive, and very good live.
svetlana...I can't write on your page! Just wanted to tell you I LOVE your current profile picture...I've never seen that picture of my boys. ;) DM looks so good!!
I had never really looked at my map... It's interesting how most musical hotbeds tend to be coastal areas. If you want to be as cool as me, you can make your map blue by going to your Account Settings page and going to Options -> Music Map -> Day. My sister is going to Amsterdam to see Interpol soon; Tijuana and Cozumel are the only places I've been to out of the U.S., sadly.
I think you would like most of Mezcal Head, though a few songs are very heavy. Overall it's not really like Loveless, but they both come from the same beautifully destructive innate urges and they sort of bend time and space in a similar way. I always speed by accident when I'm listening M.H. in the car. If you like M.H., check out Adorable's Against Perfection and The Veldt's Afrodisiac too. I forgot to mention my sister and I saw Interpol a few years ago; great light show, but not much charisma.
