Music is one of the most important things in my life, and while my taste lies mostly in guitar based alternative rock, I'm a huge fan of certain folk, classical, indie, soul and (insert any genre that pleases you, I like a bit of everytyhing) artists.
I appreciate that there is a difference between what I like and what constitutes 'good' music and I try to be objective when valuing somethings musical worth - so I'll rate things that I like well, and things that I think are worthy well, while things that I like AND think are worthy will get very good ratings indeed. Things I don't enjoy and I think are musically poor and uninteresting will get incredibly sucky ratings.
I get very annoyed by fashion and scenes etc. - like certain metal fans refuse to acknowledge that less extreme rock bands are any good at all, just because you can hear the words, or pop or dance fans write off all metal as pointless noise. Taste is a personal thing, and more people should appreciate that. What's more, I believe an individual's taste shiould be their own, and it's pretty weak when peole parrot things just to see cool or fashionable.
I love music, my taste running to songs which are played proficiently and with emotion, sometimes with humour, always with a passion for music, be it dance, rock, metal, punk, folk, classical, electronica or whatever.
I tend to review albums I like and I'm familiar with when I'm doing it for fun (it's nicer to be nice than it is to write EPIC FAIL all the time), so my ratings might look a little high - I will plough my way through the recommended lists and maybe try some new things, but if I've got, or am familiar with an album, I'll give it a review - not always what you might expect. If you like my style and want to set me loose on a band or a record, let me know, and I'll be glad to oblige!

The new Metallica sucks unfortunately but you seem to like it. I don't know but the production and the mixing doesn't satisfy me. The singer sounds like a tribute singer :P
I've seen many Metalcore bands live and I can say that they put a better show than more acclaimed bands like Slayer or Iron Maiden.
