I love Tommy, but I will admit that it has filler, and that it drags at times. Tommy is a little hard to swallow, especially with how Who's Next has so many of The Who's classics & Quadrophenia's admittedly stronger story & improved compositions. Tommy is still a classic, though.

I can see why you're not a big fan of Astral Weeks. I'm having some difficulty getting into that album myself. Astral Weeks is a bit of an odd album; it seems like this beautiful, engaging but otherworldly blend of folk, jazz, blues, etc. that seems to do its own thing. Astral Weeks takes its time to get to places, and it's nowhere near as accessible as, say, your average Beatles album. To quote a RYM user named PenaColada, Astral Weeks requires time to be fully understood.

And again, you're welcome. I'm happy to have introduced you to this site.

No problem, WUWR. I thought that your record was pretty good. It was slightly spacey indie rock stuff with a massive Pavement influence. I'm not sure if the Pavement influence was intentional, but I swear, some of the songs from Begin Transmission could've been taken directly from your average Pavement album of the 90s.

You're welcome. :) I wasn't surprised with the Pavement influence on that record; after all, it's really obvious that Pavement is your favorite band, so your love of Pavement should show in your records in some way.

Btw, are you a fan of shoegaze?

I see. As for me, I think that shoegaze is pretty cool. I love My Bloody Valentine (obviously, might I add, lol), and I also like Slowdive & Ride. I don't know much about shoegaze, though, but it seems like an interesting (if not short-lived) genre that I want to get into more. I gave you some recs for shoegaze, if you noticed.

Have you ever heard of Husker Du & The Replacements? If so, then what do you think about them?

You're welcome. I'm glad to see that you liked Nowhere by Ride. It's a cool album, and I find that it's not as "drone-y/wavy" as you mentioned. I like shoegaze for the "drone-y/wavy" quality that you brought up; sometimes, all you need is a massive, crushing wall of hypnotic, but pretty guitar feedback. Shoegaze isn't for everyone, though.

You actually owned Psychocandy in the 90s? Cool. It seems like a really unique album to own. I haven't heard Loveless in months, but I recall that I didn't like it as much as I liked Isn't Anything. Loveless probably requires a couple of spins to get into, though.

Let It Be by The Replacements is a classic album. It basically started alt rock, alongside R.E.M. & Husker Du, and it's an important album for the 80s alternative scene. I don't think that Nirvana & Green Day would've existed without The Replacements, for instance.

Yep, I am very fond of Husker Du, as you can tell from my profile picture, lol. I think that you would like Husker Du if you decide to revisit them someday; after all, Husker Du was a big influence on Green Day, and Nirvana owes a massive debt to Husker Du. Nirvana even admitted that their style wasn't new, and that Husker Du did their style before them. And again, you're welcome. I'm always happy to help out with music.
