I'm jaded... music is vast, expansive(and expensive), and it just seems to get better as time rolls on... records never died(but are very limited in pressing now), cds are cheap-ish(though they're even becoming scarce, at least the good stuff, what with the downloading shit), and independent music is now the norm... even some metal bands(i call 'em 'experimetal')are out there making really good records now... the mainstream music industry is slowly collapsing in the face of DIYers and the fact that nearly any Tom, Dick, Harry, or Susan can record shit in their bedroom, call it art, get it printed/pressed, and become a local minor celebrity... just like all forms of media at this moment in time, there's a lot of SHIT out there... but there is some truly great and unique music amidst the LOADS of crap thrown at the public on a damn near daily basis now... you just gotta take the leap sometimes... go out and buy an album that you've never heard before by an artist that you've never heard of before... sure it's hit or miss, but at least you'll have something to complain about later... SUN RA RULES!!!
