Yes I know all music obviously has "rhythm" but it's not very pronounced in classical music compared to say, Jazz. It's doesn't have much to make it interesting to me, with no improvisation, innovation or lyrics. You could argue either way, but almost all traditional/folk music has vocals and thus lyrics. Listen to some Eric B. & Rakim.
I've actually seen half of it, but stopped watching for some reason, think it may have been late. I watched the first disk, I don't wanna just watch the second disk to finish it, it felt like the kind of film that had to be watched in one sitting. I was impressed by its iconic score, cinematography, grandeur, scope, great performances but I wasn't that immersed in the story. Still, it was on course for a strong 3.5, or a 4.0. I definitely need to watch it soon.
Hi; thanks. As for your question, I guess it's because most people grow up on mainstream films on tv most of which are plot-driven and otherwise pretty bad from every other aspect (characters, atmosphere, etc.; well usually even their plot is boring and predictable, but if those are the only kinds of movies they've seen, they won't have anything better to compare them to..) and then they want to watch other movies for the plot as well.
Most people I know also don't tend to overanalyze films / philosophy too much about the characters / ideas presented, and they also don't really particularly appreciate the intricacies of how the movies were shot; they simply just want to watch movies for entertainment after a hard day of studying/work, they don't want to invest too much thinking into them when they're already tired, and in that case the plot is the easiest to focus on.
